I have an almost unnatural affinity for mexican street food. Bacon dogs (sorry vegans/vegetarians), elote (mexican corn), raspados (mexican shaved ice), lucas (ESPECIALLY lucas), etc. are all my favorite foods on earth, filipino food notwithstanding.
In LA, these are considered pretty ghetto snacks, and they’re usually pretty bad for you. It’s probably not a good thing that I down at least 2 full corns, 3 bacon dogs cooked on a ghetto cookie sheet stove with the grilled onions and peppers, a bag of wheel chips with the lemon juice and the tapatio at least once or twice a week, all while getting lead poisoning from mexican candies. If it ain’t the smog, it’s the food that kills you here.
